The Forgotten Fathers
A special collection of cards to honour Fathers who have lost children this Father's Day
In March we produced our ground-breaking range of bereaved Mother's Day cards. When we created these cards, the words by Hannah Pontillo in aid of Kicks Count, we weren’t prepared for the overwhelming response we received from the community of bereaved parents, it soon became clear that there was a forgotten group of parents out there who wished to use the day to honour their angel babies. We were then inundated with requests to create a range of bereaved Father's day cards. Kicks Count invited their social media community to compose verses that we could use to illustrate designs from our creators.
‘I wrote these words in tribute to all the fathers who have lost babies and honour them on this special if difficult day’
Ella Blackwell
‘I wanted to get involved because when me and my partner lost our first little girl at six weeks and four days old to SIDS it felt like there was nothing there for us as parents on Father’s Day or Mother’s Day, because our child had gone we shouldn’t get to celebrate because our child wasn’t here with us’
Katie Kelly
‘Every grieving parent wants to be seen as the loving parent they are. When it comes to grieving fathers, I know they struggle to be seen at all. They are often overlooked because of people's assumptions about how they grieve or if they grieve at all. I have watched my own husband deal with being forgotten. He is every bit the loving, caring father that he would have been if our daughter had lived. When I write for dads, I write for him. I want him to know that in a world where a father's grief is often overlooked, I see him, and I celebrate him’
Rachel Whalen
‘I think this is a fantastic idea and wanted to get involved with the forgotten Father’s Day cards because pregnancy loss is, unfortunately, something that every male in my family has experienced first-hand. It's sometimes hard to find the words to comfort fathers whilst they are going through loss, so these cards are an amazing step in the right direction’

For each card sold from this collection, 100% of the profits will be donated to Kicks Count charity, created after the founder, Sophia Wyatt, gave birth to her precious daughter Chloe, stillborn. Chloe died just 3 days before her due date.
In the days following Chloe's death, Sophia realised that many other families could be spared the same tragedy if only they had information that she hadn't - when babies are in distress in the womb, many of them move less before they pass away. By reporting a change in movements immediately, babies in distress could be saved. Had Sophia known that at the time, Chloe may still be here.
