Estimated Delivery Times - Cards & Letterbox Gifts

Cards, subscriptions, Card Gifts and Card Packs can be sent via Royal Mail Tracked 24, Royal Mail Tracked 48 and via Royal Mail First Class post (or such other delivery service as we select). Some card orders can be sent via Royal Mail Second Class post. Whilst we will endeavour to deliver your order by your chosen delivery date, Royal Mail First Class post is not a guaranteed one-day delivery service, so we cannot guarantee the exact delivery date. Royal Mail Tracked 24 delivery offers next-day delivery, when sent Mon-Fri. Royal Mail aims to deliver Tracked 24 items the next day, but does not guarantee it. Royal Mail Tracked 48 offers delivery within two days, when sent Mon-Fri. Royal Mail aims to deliver Tracked 48 items within two days, but does not guarantee it.

All cards sent internationally are dispatched via Royal Mail International Standard. Unfortunately letterbox gifts cannot currently be delivered outside of the UK.

Orders placed before 6pm, Mon-Fri, will be dispatched the same day. Orders placed after 6pm Friday or anytime on Saturday and Sunday will be dispatched on the following working day. Orders placed on a bank holiday will also be dispatched the following working day.

Royal Mail estimates that 93% of First Class deliveries arrive the following day, however the other 7% can take up to 3 working days. Therefore, we advise ordering early with First Class postage, where possible, as unfortunately we cannot guarantee your card will be delivered the following day!

Royal Mail estimates that 98% of Second Class deliveries arrive three working days after dispatch, no Second Class mail is delivered on Saturdays or Sundays.

Cards ordered for UK delivery, for a specific delivery date in the future, can be dispatched up to three working days before the requested delivery date.

During peak times, we may endeavour to dispatch orders on Saturday, for delivery on Sunday; these exceptions would be displayed on the website and app. Unless specifically stated, orders will be dispatched Monday to Friday only.

Estimated Delivery Times - Gift Orders

For gift orders (including flowers and plants), you have the option to select between DPD guaranteed next day delivery and Royal Mail Tracked 24 next day delivery service when ordered before 6pm, Mon-Fri, UK delivery only.

Both DPD and Royal Mail Tracked 24 will provide a 1-4 hour delivery slot by 11am on the day of delivery via email and/or SMS, which will also provide alternative delivery options. You can also track your order on the provider's website or mobile app using your tracking number provided.

Orders placed after 6pm Friday or anytime Saturday and Sunday will be dispatched on the following working day. Orders placed on a bank holiday will also be dispatched the following working day.

Orders which have been scheduled for a specific delivery date in the future will be dispatched the day before.

Non-Arrival

If your card or letterbox gift has not arrived 3 working days after the dispatch date for UK orders, or if your card has not arrived 12 working days after the dispatch date for international orders, please contact us for us to look into.

We'd rather send a replacement than have you unhappy!

Regarding gift orders, in the event of non-delivery (an order/item not having arrived 3 working days after its dispatch date as a result of a fault by the courier or an error in the delivery process), please contact us at [email protected]. In this instance we will offer to replace your order, or alternatively a refund can be provided if reasonable cause for denying a replacement is presented.

Regarding flowers, due to their perishable nature, it is the customer's responsibility to contact us within 5 days of the estimated delivery date should this situation arise. Failure to do so will result in the lapse of any rights to a replacement, refund or credit.

What products does the ‘thortful's Delivery Promise’ apply to?

The ‘thortful's Delivery Promise’ applies to all cards or gifts ordered on the thortful website or app where the Royal Mail Tracked 24 delivery option is selected.

What is ‘thortful's Delivery Promise’?

All cards using Royal Mail Tracked 24 will be delivered by the date selected at checkout. If no specific delivery date was chosen, delivery will occur on or before the estimated date provided at checkout. In the event that the delivery is made after the requested/estimated delivery date, please contact our customer happiness team and we will credit the postage cost to your thortful account.

Orders for next day delivery must be placed by 6pm to be dispatched the same day. Customers using guest checkout will not have the postage cost credited to their account, and will instead receive a refund to their original payment method.

What if the delivery arrives after the requested/estimated date?

If your card has not been delivered to the recipient by 23:59 on the estimated delivery date, you can contact our customer happiness team in the following ways:
