We’re super excited to be teaming up with Spread a Smile to celebrate Children’s Art Week! Spread a Smile provides a distraction from long hospital stays by spreading joy, laughter and positive memories to seriously ill children and their families during intensive treatment. Every year they spread smiles and laughter to thousands of hospitalised children, teenagers and their families through hospital entertainment, family outings & events, art activities and digital services including Smile TV and Smile Spaces.

We’ve asked children in hospitals across the UK to send us their drawings on the theme “across generations.” 5 of our talented creators will then be working with the children via zoom to make their designs come to life into cards that will be available to buy in a gallery space on thortful. 100% of profits will be donated to Spread a Smile.

Together, we have created a project that can entertain and inspire the young people we support, which is particularly important at the moment where they are more isolated than ever before in hospital and at home. We are excited to be able to introduce some of our young budding artists to the talented creative community at thortful. The partnership will also help to raise much needed awareness of our cause and funds to support our work.”

Over the next few weeks, we will be continuing with our regular deliveries of activity packs to our hospital partners but this time they will contain donated blank cards and felt tip pens for the children to use to make their designs. We will be promoting the partnership during Children’s Art Week, which provided the inspiration for the theme of the project, connecting across generations.
The new range of Spread a Smile cards will be available to buy on thortful.com from 20 July.
