There’s always been the ongoing debate about whether being one of the youngest in your school year sets you at a disadvantage compared to the older kids, but how much truth is there to this? Can our birth month really determine how successful we might be? And does this differ by whichever career path we end up taking? Well, here at thortful we’ve done our very own research to reveal just that.* Keep reading if you want to find out whether you’re destined for success or not based on the month you were born (or if you might even want to consider a change in career path).
Which birth month is the most likely to lead to success?
According to our research, overall success, and celebrity status for that matter, is most likely to come to those born in July. Unlucky for the other 11 months is all we’ll say. In terms of the birth months least likely to lead to success (sorry in advance), it’s not looking great for anyone born in September or February… but hey, success and fame aren’t everything.
Sporting stars
Of the male sporting stars we investigated, the month that came out on top as the most likely to produce successful athletes was July. Some famous athletes born this month include Welsh footballer Gareth Bale and Formula One driver Sebastian Vettel. Meanwhile, when it came to the female sporting stars it turns out that March is the best month to be born in which would see you sharing a birth month with the likes of gymnast Simone Biles and swimmer Katie Ledecky, both of whom are Olympic gold medallists.
Actors and actresses
While you might think you’ve already got the acting chops to make it big as an actor, we’re here to reveal if it was already written in the stars the moment you were born (or not). It turns out that both males and females born in December are most likely to see success in acting. Some famous actors and actresses born in December include Brad Pitt, Samuel L. Jackson, and Judi Dench. That’s not all though, March also came joint first for the ladies which happens to be the birth month of some iconic actresses like Reese Witherspoon and Sharon Stone.
Musicians
Did your family see you as some sort of child music prodigy like Chopin or Mozart? Or perhaps you’d prefer to sell out stadiums whilst on tour? Our research found that the optimal month to be born in for a successful career as a musician was May for the guys and December for the girls. Legendary musicians born during these two months include Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel, Britney Spears, and Christina Aguilera respectively.
Scientists
A successful career in science could see you making all sorts of new and exciting discoveries, but which months have produced the most well-known scientists? When it comes to the guys, December is when some of the top scientists in history were born, including British physicist J. J. Thomson who is credited with discovering the electron. It’s not just about the men, though – female scientists are no longer in the background and are leading research around the world. Okay, so now we’re done with the brief history lesson, just which month produces the most successful female scientists, we hear you asking? It turns out that to become a truly pioneering female scientist, you’ll have to be born in the month of November where you’ll find yourself among the likes of Darleane C. Hoffman, Lene Hau, and Rita Colwell.
Artists
If your biggest inspirations are the likes of Van Gogh, Picasso, or Warhol then this might be of interest to you! Our research found three months that produce the most successful male artists are April, May, and July, while the top female artists are January babies. So, if you’re born in one of these months you might want to get painting to see if you’ve got natural talent.
Billionaires
Meanwhile, if your main goal in life is to just make a boat load of money, then listen up. Males born in October are most likely to achieve billionaire status with this being the birth month of Microsoft co-founder, Bill Gates. Meanwhile, females have a bit more of a chance to achieve this, with our research finding that people born in February, April and July are most likely to see success as a billionaire. Okay, so let’s say you’ve got your birth month on your side, all that’s left to do now is figure out what it is that’s going to make you all this cash, aka the hard part. Good luck!
Influencers
Perhaps you’re a true Gen Z and have big aspirations to be a famous influencer? According to our research, if you’re a guy looking to start gaining success as an online content creator then you’ll probably want to be born in September. Whereas for the girls, it turns out the optimal months to be born for success as an influencer are either August or November. Whatever you decide to do in life, the most important thing is that you do something you love and that makes you happy.
