It’s not an easy feat to sell over 100,000 cards, and that’s something worth celebrating! But, sales are only half the story. This year, we’re also throwing a spotlight on the creative talent, wit and downright audacity behind our best-designs.
So we’ve built two brand-new ways to celebrate our creators. One for the big sales milestones, one for pure creative brilliance. And don’t worry this is only the beginning: over the next year or so, we’ll roll out even more ways to celebrate our creators’ achievements, both big and small.
The Home Of Remarkable Talent In Every Style
Our brand-new, annual, voted-for awards celebrating the best of our creator community. This is our inaugural year, and the categories split into two tracks: card designs voted by our customers, and creator talent voted by the thortful team. The shortlist for each category is put together by our moderation team. From there, card categories are put to an online vote by you and our customers. While, creator categories are decided internally by the thortful team.
Voted by you: the card awards
The Knee Slapper: Awarded to this year’s absolute belter of a card. Razor-sharp wit or puns-so-bad-they’re-actually-good, this design made everyone spit out their tea.
The Pearl Clutcher: Awarded to the card that made the office gasp, wince, and check over their shoulder to make sure HR weren’t looking at their screen. Unhinged, unapologetic, and gloriously close to the edge.
Louvre-Worthy: A design so gorgeous, intricate, or beautifully crafted it belongs in a museum (or at least framed on a wall), not just stuck on a mantlepiece.
Cultural Gold: Awarded to the design that seized a viral moment, tapped into the national chat, and hit our site before the trend even finished peaking.
Voted by the thortful team: the creator awards
The Risk Taker: Awarded to the creator who stepped out of their comfort zone and dared to try something fresh. They ditched the safe option, tested bold styles, and proved that thortune favours the brave.
Best Newbie: Awarded to the standout creator who joined thortful in the last 12 months. We’re looking beyond pure sales to encompass top-tier designs, consistent uploads, and overall fabulous newbie vibes.
Speed Demon: Awarded to the master of rapid-fire reactivity. The creator who reliably hits the nail on the head, turning breaking news and pop culture madness into brilliant card designs in record time.
How it works
The shortlist for every category is put together by our moderation team. From there, card categories go to an online customer vote, while creator categories are decided internally by the thortful team.
🏆 The prizes
Each winner will receive a personalised certificate designed by the thortful team, a gift from the thortful site, and a dedicated shoutout across our social channels.
📣 The announcement
Winners will be announced via a live video on Instagram, which will then live permanently on our feed — so you can rewatch (and gloat) whenever you like.
While The THORTIES are decided by votes, this one’s decided by you. It’s our year-round programme, running from 1st March 2026, that celebrates every major sales milestone as it happens. (Unfortunately we’re unable to honour any of the sales milestones reached before 1st March 2026, but keep smashing it as your sales still count toward the next milestone!)
