The language of flowers<\/h2>\n

Now, before you accuse us of making this up \u2013 did you know that the Victorians had a whole language of flowers? There were books dedicated to the meaning of flowers, with a description behind each and every bloom, and you could even send secret messages with a bouquet \u2013 if your beloved sent you a bunch of yellow carnations, rather than swooning you\u2019d be more likely to bash him over the head with them \u2013 because yellow carnations mean disdain, disappointment, or rejection.<\/p>\n
