Mother\u2019s Day in the UK & Ireland<\/span><\/h2>\n

In the UK and Ireland, Mother\u2019s Day falls on the fourth Sunday of Lent, meaning it hops around the calendar each year (usually landing somewhere in March).\u00a0<\/span>Originally known as Mothering Sunday, the tradition dates back to the 16<\/span>th<\/span> century, when people would return to their \u2018mother church\u2019 (where they were baptised) for a special service. Many churches still mark the occasion today by handing out flowers to visiting mums!<\/span><\/p>\n
