There are as many different types of travellers as there are destinations on planet earth – gazillions! If you\u2019re jetting off somewhere with other people, it\u2019s a great idea to better understand the traveller types in your group, so you can all have a more harmonious time of things.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Prefer to hone that \u2018lone wolf\u2019 vibe instead? Make sure your travel companions are aware of your need for solitude, so you don\u2019t come across as an antisocial hermit the entire time. You can always regroup for dinner or drinks occasionally before reverting to your independent ways.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The galloping gourmet type of traveller<\/span><\/h2>\n

These types of travellers will stop at nothing to get a good dose of gastronomically impressive grub. So obsessed are they about filling their bellies with weird and wonderful cuisine, you\u2019ll start to think they\u2019re guided by nothing else. Even before you\u2019ve gulped down the last morsel of whatever meal you\u2019re currently scoffing, the galloping gourmet traveller types among us will already be thinking about the next pitstop. The good thing about these types of travellers is they have a nose for sniffing out marvellous meals. The bad thing is, you\u2019ll be feeling like a stuffed turkey by the end of your holiday.<\/span><\/p>\n

The thrill-seeking adventurous type<\/span><\/h2>\n

Travellers like these hardly need any explanation. We all know them: they\u2019re the type of person who can barely sit still for needing an adrenaline hit. From bungee jumping to leaping out of aeroplanes, zip-wire zooming to off-roading, these types of travellers are the sort of folk who laugh in the face of danger and think others are wusses if they don\u2019t do the same. White water rafting, anyone? Or maybe swimming with sharks? Life with these traveller types is certainly never dull. Brace yourselves!<\/span><\/p>\n

The frugal flyer traveller type<\/span><\/h2>\n

We all love a bargain when we\u2019re off on our jollies, but frugal flyer types can often take things to extremes. Every entrance ticket to an attraction needs a promo code, every meal needs to be on an early bird deal, every club night needs to be blagged, every cocktail needs to be bulk-bought during Happy Hour – and eked out to last the rest of the evening. Saying \u201clet\u2019s splash out\u201d to these traveller types is likely to induce palpitations and cold sweats. Our advice? Resistance is futile, so simply sit back, relax, and enjoy the el-cheapo ride.<\/span><\/p>\n

The culture vulture typ<\/span>e<\/span><\/h2>\n

Different types of travellers are all well and good, but with culture vultures you absolutely know where you\u2019re at. From museums to music, art to architecture, sculpture to literature, there\u2019s nothing like a spot of culture vulture action to give your holiday substance and depth. These traveller types have got all the sophisticated activities of the area mapped out to the nth degree from the get-go, knowing exactly where to head for high-falutin cerebral thinking that\u2019ll make you feel like Simon Sharma in no time.<\/p>\n

The lone wolf type of traveller<\/span><\/h2>\n

Forget about being leader of the pack: lone wolves are a law unto their own and hate it when others try to tag along because it only irritates and distracts them. Try to tell them what to do, where to go or what to see at your peril. The best thing to do with these types of travellers is give them a totally free rein, so they can wander around independently and explore whatever they like. Trying to tame lone wolf traveller types will only lead to snarling and tooth-bearing. Attempt it at your peril!\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The planned-to-perfection type<\/span><\/h2>\n

What is there to say? You\u2019ll never be running late for your flight with planned-to-perfection traveller types. Nor will you be afforded the freedom of getting lost, and in doing so, happening to stumble across the best little tapas restaurant ever, or the most mesmerising mural. If you don\u2019t like being on a schedule all the time and prefer not to necessarily know what your every move is going to be, it\u2019s probably best to avoid these types of travellers.<\/span><\/p>\n

The go-with-the-flow traveller type<\/span><\/h2>\n

At the complete opposite end of the spectrum to planned-to-perfection traveller types is, of course, those who prefer to simply go with the flow. Horns will lock if the two end up sitting next to each other on the plane, or have to share the same hotel room. Free spirits like these are the very antithesis of planned-to-perfection traveller types. Different types of travellers couldn\u2019t get more, er, different! The two are at total opposite ends of the spectrum. Embrace this certainty and your life will be easier for it.<\/span><\/p>\n
